What is excluded?

This can be complicated but insurers, and brokers, should be transparent about exclusions.

We will be able to advise but it’s worth knowing that some risks might be excluded, such as:

  • Interest-only residential mortgages. Interest-only buy-to-let mortgages are common and usually less of a concern for insurers.
  • Mortgages provided by offshore providers.
  • Mortgages for clients over a certain age.
  • Equity release (should you conduct such advice).
